Its now coming up to four-years since we made our last visit to the Welfare Ground on Church Lane, Linby and that was a day to remember when we notched up a comfortable 6-0 victory. There was a brace of goals from both Josh Pickering and Joe Harris and then Nathan Jessop and Tomas Poole got in on the act. Much has changed since that fateful day for the Linby boys and their response to that humiliation in their own back yard on Halloween day 2015 was to turn us over at Mill lane the following March by three-goals to nil. From what we understand the club has seen many improvements in their facilities and the pitch is in a totally different place to when we last strode off it victorious. So history and statistics are one thing but its down to what happens this time around and I guess only a few will still be representing either club and still have a vivid memory of the day anyway. A defeat at Rowsley '86 was last weeks undoing for the Linby club but they did start off the season well with a 3-2 win over Ashland Rovers. So at this early stage of the season we can only tread with caution and take each game as it comes and just try to come away with something when Gareth Tye blows his whistle at around 4.45pm. Those Millers supporters travelling to the game please use the postcode NG15 8AB to find the ground.
